Shirin is a hard-working, competitive individual, to the point of overachievement. The bar is as high as she sets it for herself and it's never good enough. She seeks to improve and progress with so much drive, that she had to teach herself to respect others values, especially more traditional or religious ones. Providing solutions where others might not even see a problem. Shirin used to be shy and timid, watching the world move rather than partaking in it, but encouragement from her family and friends, as well as her gained confidence and eloquence through education, has helped her turn her life from a passive onlooker to an active participant in society. In private, Shirin is a gentle yet stubborn soul. Although she is still mourning the loss of her love, she remains positive and still has a lot of care and love to give. In general, she allows herself to be emotional and erratic, which is part of her authenticity.
Her dificult youth in poverty and especially the last year have aged her significantly, her views and habits have slowed down a lot compared to her teen years and she has developed more patience. She now uses more traditional rhetoric in her arguing in order to persuade her opposite and she will now let you finish your sentence before she tells you that you're wrong.
History
Shirin is an orphan raised by her oldest cousin and his wife. She is from the outskirts of Tusa and grew up in poor circumstances. As a child, she helped herd Yamben, but her Family soon noticed that amidst her hardworking but shy and timid nature, Shirin also possessed a surprising intellectual capacity. She was easily bored at school and would soon begin to skip classes and make her way to the city library and make use of the free public access. Gaining more confidence in her abilities, Shirin acquired numerous Scholarships and a Sponsorship and started attending Tusa University aged 16. Majoring in History and Economics helped her acquire a broad knowledge of entrepreneurship, politics and trade agreements, however, she has little to no experience in military structure or battle strategies. In her three years at the University she has won awards in debate and Economic Solution contests, the first always in close rivalry with Sandjar Rhas. She got appointed her role as a member of the Yazgur council, representing the poor outskirt Families of Tusa, at age 18 after performing a speech on the Economic differences and challenges between Tusa and the Koben Empire, long past her shy days, she had become a vocal and confident woman.
It was shortly after, that Sandjar's speeches at underground Poetry and Politic Slams gained momentum and propelled him to the head of the Revolutionary movement. Despite agreeing with Sandjar's general consensus, Shirin denounced his brash methods and "flat" rhetoric describing it as "black and white" and "oversimplified". She and her partner at the time, a 22 y/o Mechanics officer of the Tusa Military, still attended the rallies and protests nonetheless. Including the first Tusa uprising, that took numerous lives on both sides, including her partner's. Shirin herself got struck by the debris of a grenade, rendering her upper body and face scarred, and her right hand basically immobile.
Following a last, desperate appeal towards the Yazgur, Shirin quit her position as a council member and joined a remaining revolutionary cell. There, through her intellectual appeal as well as inside knowledge of Tusa and the government, she quickly emerged as a charismatic icon and leader. Rumors appointing her to Gerel heritage and likeness to the goddess Mareus (the Tusa version) garnered her additional sympathies.
Post the overthrow of the previous Yazgur, Shirin has taken on the mantle as the new Yazgur of Tusa. Albeit a very traditional title, Shirin bears no resentment against the traditional values of serving and inspiring, that the Yazgur stands for, she, however, denounces the idea of a single leader. While accepting the new responsibilities, she is planning to hand them off to the new parliament of Tusa. Understanding that Tusa will need time to resort itself structurally, this handoff is going to be gradual and will need time. Shirin wishes the Yazgur to ultimately become a relic and possibly a role model, with as much power as any other Tusar.

Additional Info
Has a surprising number of personal things in common with Nasrin such as their favorite color (Blue), their hardworking philosophy and their like for similar tobacco.
She has a reasonable talent in playing various versions of the Zither such as the Qanun, Koton or her favorite instrument, the morin khur (P.S. all of these exist and can be googled for reference ~)
She cannot sing to save her life. At all. Which comes as a surprise to many, as her speaking voice is perceived as comforting and investing. Some would attribute her charismatic quality in speeches to her talents as a Bard.
