Fantastic Bazaar

Linhythe is booming. Renewed trade with Amedra and the Citadel's capture spells a future of riches - a future Linhians are ready to grab. To kick start imports and entice allies, a floating market of foreign wares is planned for all to sample the possibilities of their trade mecca. Colorful stalls boasting Amedran fashions, Song-Luan cuisine and more are set up; they will start at the docks and spread onto the decks of a network of moored ships. To take part, merchants are asked only to donate an item of certain value for auction, with profits set to help rebuild the seaside towns damaged by shifting coastlines. On the Day of Blossoming, the freshly appointed Governor of Linhythe Walter Phillips, cuts the ribbon to begin the festivities.

But Linhians are aware that this bazaar serves more than one purpose. The market is specifically located in a dock that is the undisputed territory of the Silver Syndicate; an age old gang that rebranded itself and took power after the attack on Linhythe two years ago. For the underworld, the deliberate choice to host the market on gang territory is a sign that the infamous black trade is back in business - a deal has been struck with the government. An influx of displaced peoples means increased human trafficking, and the illegal artefacts trade is booming thanks to pillaging of the Citadel.

The real auction is happening in the basement of nearby Warehouse 6, protected from unrelated rubberneckers by policemen and gangsters alike.
