Linhythe

Force of Law

11 Oct - 24 Oct 2015

Almost two months on from the Kingdom’s attack, Linhythe is still struggling to get back on its feet. With its leftover population mostly a ragtag mash of the criminal and poor, the rebuilding efforts have languished, unorganised and unattended, while at the same time gang feudalism has risen sharply. A rabble of underground groups now rules the streets and populace, taking advantage of the chaos and broken society to wrest power for themselves.

Drastic action is needed and the Empire takes it. Sending a sizable contingent of its military to the port city, Koben declares martial law in Linhythe. Slowly but surely, order is forced back into it – criminal rings are hunted down without mercy, aid is organised and distributed, and citizens are prodded out of hiding to help with the rebuilding projects. Wherever the military relaxes or withdraws, violence and anarchy break out again, so the fist is kept tight. While this seems effective for now, it becomes increasingly clear that it will be a long time and much effort yet before Linhythe is stabilised enough to run by itself again. Until then, the capital will and must play a vital role in maintaining the city. And so, like this, Linhythe begins its long trek towards recovery.

Features: Soldiers everywhere on the streets, crackdowns on criminal activity, raids on gang strongholds, reconstruction, aid centres, zero tolerance for law-breaking, mixed fear and gratitude from civilians
