Nisalvini

Poisoned Land

2 Aug - 15 Aug 2015

While war grips the Kingdom and the Empire, the peaceful island of Nisalvini is faced with a crisis of its own. Botanists and experts in the magical flows of the natural world are unsettled - for several days the leaves of Nisalvini have turned black, and there has been an explosion of poisonous plants everywhere. If it continues, the isle's precious reserves are in danger of being strangled by these new invaders. Nothing like this has ever happened before, and it is quietly believed that the leaves, long thought to be a finger on the pulse of the world's magical balance, now speak of ominous things. Why has this happened, what can be done to halt it and, perhaps most disturbingly, what can it possibly mean?

Concerned experts and helpers from all over the Kingdom gather to do what they can. In the streets and in the forests, volunteers work to fight back the fast-growing parasitic growths - thorned vines, persistent creepers, and dark leaves and berries that are toxic need to be stripped back as quickly and exhaustively as possible. In labs and public centres converted to impromptu examination rooms, researchers rush to discover what they can about them - and what can be done to rid them. It is, in its own domain of mysterious natural disasters, a race against time to save what makes Nisalvini a treasure of Alva.

Features: Black leaves, twisted plants, thorny vines and branches, poisoned water, attempts to purge the island of these new flora and furiously conducted experiments
