Queen's Blood

Reluir is abuzz with grim and unsettling news - Queen Morven, long a bastion of strength for her people, has been gravely poisoned. They say it was on the 10th of Fire, after a banquet at the royal palace with distinguished Relan nobles and clergy in attendance, that she took ill. Upon retiring early to her quarters, a trusted physician confirmed the evidence of foul play. Suspicion was quickly placed on the servant who had poured her wine - a man who had often secretly spoken ill of the queen. He had departed from the castle hours ago leaving no clues to his whereabouts.

The next day marks the beginning of a manhunt across Reluir. Borders are shut down, a reward has been set, posters of the suspect's face have been made, and gossip begins to spread. Accusations are quickly budding over who hired him, and to what end. Unease is growing amongst Relans as they wait for news of Queen Morven’s health and comply to raids by authorities on the hunt. Meanwhile the nobility of Reluir suddenly scrambles for favour with the young princess who might soon take the throne. For the first time in a long while, fear has struck at the very heart of the dark elf capital.
