Darker Tides

17 Aug - 29 Aug 2015

In the wake of the attacks on Linhythe and Song-Lu, the Empire scrambles to recalibrate. While Song-Lu managed to avoid substantial damage, Linhythe lays in ruins and its economy is in shambles. With much of the population having fled, only the poor, the criminals and a few brave souls remain to pick up the pieces. The Koben army sends soldiers to keep control and begin the cleanup but with Linhythe now even more chaotic and much less affluent than before, the road ahead of them is long.

The heavily damaged navy begins moving north. Song-Lu is not as well-equipped as Linhythe was to handle being a naval base, but no other city is better suited now so it must step up. Empire presence in Belport also receives a boost; weapons production and building of bases there reach a fever pitch. Pirate activity in southern Linhythe burgeons with the thinning of military oversight there, meaning more unfettered raids on Linhian and Tusar coasts. The flight of richer civilians from Linhythe also weighs down other cities - urbanites at heart, they flood into Song-Lu and especially Koben, crowding an already crowded capital.

Further afield, Iadlain comes under heavy pressure. Much of the damage and injuries left by the Kingdom are highly magical in nature and must be dealt with through equally magical or alchemical means. The Empire, scarce of such resources, floods the small southern region with urgent orders. However, Iadlain lacks large-scale industry, it needs to maintain a balance with its environment and communication often falls flat in the absence of the Tusa Scrying Tower. Frustrations rise on both sides as they struggle to be heard by the other.

Features: Linhythe in shambles, increased construction in Song-Lu and Belport, increased piracy on the coasts of Linhythe and Tusa, struggling in Iadlain to provide for all the demand
