A rather forgettable fellow with not very outspoken opinions or presence when it comes to the public eye, he is quite content to sit back and enjoy watching others before adapting his views to appease others. Aalok understands the value of friends and allies, particularly in the political circles he walks in, and often tries to charm his way into their good graces even if he must make himself look weak. If submission is required to achieve peace for his people and the rest of Alva, then he is not unwilling to bend the knee.

Aalok shares the great dreams that Akiela spun in his head. Now that she is gone, he obsessively clings to their dreams as if that is all he has left of her, anything he does is always to progress their goals. Despite his outward passive behaviour, Aalok has continued to aggressively step towards what was promised to him, taking advantage of the friends and allies he’s collected through soft words and friendly smiles.

During his time as Consul, he has learnt the importance of patience. He realised not everything can be achieved with a click of the fingers even as the most influential man in the country. Only after years of sowing seeds is he finally seeing his hard work grow.

His tenure has made him more shrewd, finding his heart hardened by Akiela’s execution, Aalok has found himself using more and more dishonesty to get his way. The lies even seep into his personal life even though it gains him nothing, subconsciously lying and manipulating those around him. The mask of deceit grants him a sense of control and has become a source of comfort, it protects his inner thoughts and fragile heart.

History

The Dalal line has been a rather simple one, comfortable in its financial position and too stubborn to leave the safety of Estraude through generations, Aalok’s father insists that they live in the very house their ancestors built, whether it’s actually true is another matter. Aalok was the second child of his parents, a rather average, even dull child with no interest in following his parents’ craft in artisan jewelry or their water gem business, he left that in the trusted hands of his older brother while he followed his curiosity into the arts of magic.

The elf spent most of his early years in education and studying books alongside local mages and students, hearing tales of traveling mages and visiting lecturers the man found himself bitten by the wanderlust bug. The young man set off in search of greater education in the magic arts, but his dreams to study in Reluir were quickly slashed by the racism met at the border (Quickly learning Dark elves are unkind). Instead, his wandering feet brought him to the Iadlish’s doorstep, while the stay was incredibly educational, it was unfortunately quite short-lived as the Relan racism still resonates in Iadlish hearts. He took his leave feeling he could only learn so much under such mistrusting eyes returning to Estraude instead, joining the Estran Church College to deepen his education. Aalok found himself excelling in summoning magic, finding a tutor that understood his thirst for knowledge and pushed him to new heights.

Spending some time as a Scribe, Aalok found himself getting acquainted with a fiery young woman, Akiela Fakhri, who had a curious interest in Estran history and Aalok's talents. After many meetings, scouring ancient texts, and discussing hypothetical magic, Akiela managed to convince Aalok to join her in the political world. Easily impressed by the woman’s charisma and passion he found himself falling in love with her and her ideas. Diplomacy seemed a natural pathway into politics, hoping to make a difference and perhaps catch Akiela’s eye. He found work within the nation and outside of Estraude giving him the excuse to continue his studies whilst connecting with the other politicians and nobility alike. Through the years he found himself working as an ambassador in Tusa developing strong connections to the city and its issues, falling into the political background.

His re-entry into the political limelight caused waves across Alva, bringing about temporary peace and changing his own nation. Set on achieving the dreams that he and Akiela once talked about, he’s certain he’ll achieve the impossible.

With the new order set, decided by the politicians and citizens of Estraude. The nation settles in its newly found neutrality. Despite this, Aalok wastes no time establishing contact, playing nice and sizing up political rivals across Alva. His world starts spinning out of control when the news of Akiela’s death reaches Estraude, mourning he descends upon Koben with suppressed anger and bitterness. Reluctantly plays his role of Consul during his stay, keeping the feelings locked behind closed doors.

The elf focuses on the mountain of work remaining to quieten his heart. The calls of Tusar’s leaders and the fond memories of Tusa start the monumental achievement of forming a federation. Now a new power on Alva’s playing field, the Southern Federation starts to test its limits with Aalok and Shirin at the helm.

As Aalok returns to his feet, his sense of adventure consumes him. Disappearing from the safety of Estraude to venture across Alva, appearing at the Citadel. Continuing his game with Cassair in Iadlain before making a beneficial visit to the King of Miras.

Current Story

Now with the discovery of the Viyanaru caves and uncovering of Irana. Aalok is pulled away from the world beyond his borders to the lands he leads, not hesitating for a moment as Alva slides into further chaos. The elf leans on the dependable team of Estrans as they dive deep into the caves for clues and answers to many mysteries before vanishing from Alva (almost). Now in a race against time, Aalok is forced to face questions and concerns never thought possible before diving into the other realm himself after the questers

Whatever the questers opened deep within those caves, a wave of unfortunate events follow, pulling Aalok's attention left and right. Politics and horror blend together; a failed plot to overthrow Aalok. Missing person mysteries. And a hidden mastermind. In his desperation to catch the culprit, he becomes another kidnap victim alongside Seo by Vide. Their actions deep within the Noitheque archives send shock waves through the Capital, opening portals and bringing more monsters into Alva.

Just a complicated little game. Someone has to lose, unfortunately.

A fine Empress.

Kamlai Pusparna

A fine woman with so much potential. If given enough time, she could outclass every conjurer on Alva. I look forward to seeing her as peer in our field, I hope to teach her everything and more.
