Ashes and Embers
12 Mar - 25 Mar 2017
The Empire has withstood the Kingdom’s onslaught but they are far from safe. While the Mirian military lurks menacingly to the north, Koben wastes no time in both recovering and bracing itself – emergency shelters and kitchens are set up, healers volunteer in droves to help the many injured and poisoned, workers return stoically to the factories of Upper Koben to keep supplies going. With the clockwork efficiency Kobeners pride themselves for, the city transforms into one ready to survive.
Further abroad, the effects of Miras’ attack reach far. Song-Lu rebuilds yet again and, lacking Kralspitzer parts, struggles with its dark elvish casualties. Linhythe roars into activity as the Imperial Navy mobilises and citizens prepare for being a likely next target. Bratkowice moves to give Koben both soldiers and supplies but is stopped as Reluir, learning of Koben’s strife, takes the opportunity to launch fresh assaults on its Iadlish and Bratkovan borders. With Koben unable to offer any more reinforcements, Iadlain barely fends off the queendom with its existing forces and some naval aid from Estraude. And so they make a grim and desperate proposition to the capital: if Koben gives them samples of the Adabrene poison to recreate for use against Reluir, Iadlain will give Koben a poison that will kill light elves just as efficiently.
