Alva is in a state of unnatural limbo. The months that usually usher in the new year have disappeared completely. There is no time to reflect or make good with the re-awakening gods. Even so the old year passes into history and a new one marches, dragging a long-forgotten past into the present and facing towards a future more uncertain than ever before.
