Amedra is known for its vibrancy as the trade hub of the Mirian continent. Many sea-faring traders base themselves in this bright and bustling port, including the Traders’ Guild, and many people of all kinds gather here to seek luck or a new life. Known also as the city of sunrise, Amedrans take pride in their mecca of opportunity.
Alongside and complementary to the fast and furious commerce, Amedra is also a city of many distractions – the pub and restaurant culture is strong here, ready to cater for thirsty sailors and locals alike, as is the demand and supply for gambling, comforts and other entertainments. Amedrans are lovers of a good time, and are more than willing to show it off.
Be careful though – the city teems with opportunists waiting to take advantage of naivety. While Amedran culture is open and friendly, cunning is valued here more than complete honesty and the locals’ unfailing warmth often veils ulterior motives, whether trivial or major. The social scene is complex and volatile, but to really make a name here it is essential to play that game.

Also known fondly as the Duchess' Necklace, the Agate Alliance is a special unit of former Jewel Sea Corsairs who proved their integrity during the midsummer attacks of 8292. Although mostly a motley bunch of retired pirates with new lives, their old skills and knowledge make them a swift and savage force against injustices when called upon by the Duchess.

Although its headquarters are found in Amedra, the Traders' Guild has substantial branches in all the major port cities. Here, for a cut of his or her profit, a trader can find kinship and advice from others bound by the call of enterprise - be it seafaring or overland - as well as opportunities not available to an independent trader.
